The Mattress Our futon mattress has a patented Airlay fibre-foam core which helps the futon spring back to life and retain its shape. The foam core is wrapped in multiple layers of pure cotton batting which gives the futon a semi-firm yet natural feel. We vacuum-pack and box each futon mattress just before shipping. About Poplar Hardwood The Savannah sofabed frame is made of smooth, clean, unfinished poplar hardwood, not pine. Many of the pine frames on the market have a rough splintery feel.
